Review of Lord of the Flies (1991) by Ruan J — 11 Sep 2008
I haven't read the book yet, even though I have had it in my library for years. The movie is mostly sad, and makes you think about what life would possibly be like without a government/laws and rules.
Piggy was a cute little kid and throughout the movie I continuously felt bad for him and the way the other kids treated him. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for kids like him. I wished that someone (Ralph, particularly) would skewer the crap out of Jack.
I realize Ralph was the good boy but if anyone deserved to be iced here it was Jack. I didn't like the ending as it left you hanging, wondering what happened to the boys who had committed such atrocities while they were on the island.
