Review of Lord of the Flies (1991) by Chris C — 25 Feb 2012

Unbelievable that a movie that strays sooo far from the book would be allowed to share its title! Better to just call it 'The Serf of the S#!*ts' lest some poor kid get an F on his book report while trying to use this piece-o-crap as a cinematic 'Cliff Notes'. (Hell, do the same for the rest of us who have readâÂÂ"and appreciatedâÂÂ"the Golding classic and are insulted by the theft & application of his title to this mountebank movie.

Unfortunately, even if it wasn't a horrible translation of an existing story, it's so poorly written, acted and--ultimately--pointless, that it can't even stand alone as a recommendable film.

Skip it and rent (or read!) the original.
