Review of Lord of the Flies (1963) by Jeff B — 15 Apr 2011
I haven't actually read the book, but I can imagine that this was a pretty decent telling of it. The kid who played Piggy was terrible, but everyone else seemed pretty average for child actors. The film really gets points here because I think it made the case (that the book makes, if I'm correct) very well through its use of sight and sound, as the "tribe" goes through a de-civilization process under the choir leader, Jack.
