I remember hearing an interview with Joseph Gordon-Levitt which somewhat raised my expectations.

Unfortunately, when I eventually saw this film, the lasting impression was of talent wasted on a somewhat incoherent script, a plotline that literally warns you not to ask questions, and distracting special effects (I had forgotten that they made J G-L look more like a young Bruce Willis.

The creepy little kid trope felt like old news, and the villains all seemed only half-realized. Overall, it was sort of cartoonish, but not in a good way. I'd have looked at my watch if I were wearing one, but couldn't believe how much movie was still left to go each time we paused it and saw the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

I feel like it takes a unique ability to make a sci-fi/action drama feel boring. Yawn. If you want to see a Bruce Willis film involving time travel, just get Twelve Monkeys instead.
