Review of Looper (2012) by Luke E — 10 Feb 2015
Rian Johnson's time travel sci-fi actioner sees Joseph Gordon-Levitt play a 'looper' - a hired assassin tasked with executing people sent back in time - who is stunned to come face-to-face with his older self (Bruce Willis).
After inadvertently letting him escape, Gordon-Levitt is forced to go in hot pursuit of Willis and put aside the fact that his target is, in fact, an older version of him. Not quite the cat-and-mouse chase I was expecting, Looper is a refreshingly intelligent mix of brains and broan with a bold take on time travel paradoxes which keeps you guessing until the final twist.
