Review of Looper (2012) by Ken S — 03 Jun 2015
This time travel thriller is a pretty enjoyable film. In the future, time travel is possible but illegal. The mob use time travel to send people they want killed back in time to guys known as Loopers, who kill and dispose of the bodies in a time before the time travel is possible.
At some point every Looper gets a guy sent back that they kill, only to discover it is their future selves...and they have closed their loop. The time travel whatsits can get complicated in your head, but it mostly makes sense.
Also in this future has mutated humans with telekinesis. Go with it...it all kind of comes together in the end, and it is a fairly satisfying film experience. If I had one major complaint, it would be that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's make up (meant to make him look like Willis), is goofy and totally distracting.
He doesn't really look like Willis in the end so I'm not sure what the point was. Beyond that, an enjoyable action/thriller/sci-fi movie.
