So Warner Bros. just did the ol' Muppet movie se up, except this don't work because there's an unwritten rule in movie DNA that dictates this stuff ONLY works for the Muppets.

This stuff is always depressing from the outset because these characters are so damn near to my heart. You initially have to get past the terrible try hard voices that always miss the point of the originals, then you have to get by the insane set up of the concept and then you have to put up with the constant bombardment of in jokes that fall flat and the cart load of Z list celebrities popping up to spike your ever decreasing brain activity.

It's all a bit of fun really, but for every ounce of fun theres a ton of pointless. Joe Dante does his best to bring it back to the modern era but just forgets what makes these guys so great. There's so many misteps, fart jokes, mis-use of characters traits and it all creates a horrible smell of trying to hard in the air.

This ain't the Looney Tunes we all love and this ain't the movie we want to see them in. It just doesn't do anything but leave a semi bad taste in your mouth and a wish for something that really celebrates the genius that is the WB animated world.
