Review of Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) by Charles K — 24 Aug 2008
The pure "family" movie doesn't exist anymore. For better or worse, the development of Pixar and its competitors has pushed the purely silly superficial life-lesson-free "looney tune" right out the window.
This movie will teach you nothing, it will not employ any subtlety, it will not simultaneously amuse you and make you "think.".
But that is not bad. At one point, this is all we asked of our family films. Every so often, we need just lower our standards and allow for more free-form Big-Message-Less fun.
