Review of Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) by Philipp W — 23 Aug 2008
I didn't have a lot of expections, in fact I feared that the movie would be pretty bad. But to my surprise I really enjoyed it. It's definitely not a must-see movie, but it's still pretty funny and a good family friendly movie.
There are only two things I really have to criticize: Steve Martin is a absolute catastrophe and sometimes the movie just get's too crazy. But on the good side, I liked the way they integrated the looney tunes figures a lot. The combination of real movie and cartoons is crazy but after short time I really started to like it. And I really loved all the irony included, specially the self-irony jokes, like when Brendan Fraser alias DJ Drake says of himself, that he was the stunt double for Brendan Fraser in the Mummy movies.
If you're looking for a funny movie and if haven't any problems with a pretty crazy and abstract kind of movie, you probably like Looney Tunes - Back in Action. If you search for serious movies, forget this one, immediately!
