Review of Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) by Sol H — 24 Jul 2011
The bulk of this film was bad, but it threw Hollywood in-jokes in my face every few minutes and that kept me reasonably entertained until the end when I began to get bored. Robbie the Robot shows up in area 51, an animated Shaggy berates Matthew Lillard for his portrayal of him in the live action Scooby Doo film, it's that sort of thing. I enjoy that sort of thing.
I also enjoyed an extended sequence where some animated characters chased eachother through a series of paintings, each one causing a different animation style.
So yes. A messy film, and by all accounts, a mediocre-to-bad film, but one with its heart in the right place and enough for me to sit through it happily enough.
6/10.
