Review of Looking for Richard (1996) by Zack S — 26 Sep 2008
I couldn't tell if this was a vanity piece from Pacino (he wrote, produced and directed this pic as well as act in it) or an educational pic for PBS. It was supposed to deconstruct and bring Richard III to a populist audience but all that I got was Pacino telling the audience via voice over what was gong on on screen.
It was fun to see round table discussion between the cast of Pacino's imaginary production of Richard III and a very young Kevin Spacey get complemented by Pacino but at the end of the day it made me realize how egotistical actors really are.
