Review of Looking for Eric (2009) by Gareth M — 01 Nov 2009

This is about as good as the subject matter allows. A tale about regret, love and redemption found via Eric Cantona. Indeed Cantona provides the comic muse, either through is french philosophy or is brilliantly random impersonation of Elvis Presley.

Steve Evets is superb, and completely believable as a old man falling apart from crisis to crisis, whether it be in his work life, love life, or inability to manage his 2 off the rails teenagers....until Cantona arrives to save him, them and the world.

There's nothing in the subject matter or how's it handled and concluded that hasn't been done again and again on some ITV drama, but the addition of Cantona certainly brings a bit of colour and flair to it.
