Review of Looking for Eric (2009) by Sebastian I — 28 Nov 2009
Ken Loach puts away his normally hard edge and gives us a crowd plaesing movie with a great central performance by Steve Everts.
When Erics life as a postie takes a huge down turn he suddenly starts getting visits from his Hero Eric Cantona (Great).
Catona gives the lowly postie advice and he suddenly starts to get some life back including long lost loves and dealing with a hard drug dealer in one of the films funniest sequences.
Loach combines grittiness and humour to great effect and regular collaberator Paul Laverty gives us a funnt but never too slushy script.
Loach has made better films true ,but this really is a winner all the way.
