This is a fantastic little film and although you could probably make a case for it being a little Loach standard, it's emotional and original enough to trump 90% of the films I've seen this year.
The ending is a little unbelieveable but then isn't this whole film a bit of a modern day fable? Is little Eric just imagining the appearances of the mercurial Cantona or is there more to it? I loved it.
