Review of Look at Me (2004) by Michael A — 23 Jan 2008
A thoughtful and highly watchable film from director Agnes Jaoui, who also takes a leading role. The theme of what people do to attract attention and how they react when they do or don't get it runs throughout the story of its main protagonists.
There are some achingly sad moments here, along with quite a few which are wryly amusing. Intelligently scripted by Jaoui and another of the leading actors, Jean-Pierre Bacri, this is a highly engrossing piece of cinema.
