I remember when JFK was assassinated, I didn't cry. I didn't cry when the Towers fell on 9/11. I burst into tears in 1995 for a man I never knew personally, due to the music he made that touched my soul.
This documentary, especially the last act, brought back those feelings, and helped me understand a little better why Jerry Garcia and his music had such an impact on my life. I'm glad I got to see the Dead before they became such a machine in the late 80's and 90's.
The joy of the music and the sad way it became such a burden to Jerry at the end made my heart break.
