Review of Lonesome Jim (2005) by Stacey S — 28 Jun 2009
Same old story of loser son who returns to his family to piece his life back together in the desolate small town they live in. But it's directed by Steve Buscemi and has a good sense of realism and pace.
Affleck is great in the lead and there are welcome familar faces like Kevin Corrigan and Mark Boone Junior. And it's weird, I never used to find Liv Tyler overly attractive, but the more she ages into these matronly love interest roles, the more I am compelled by her.
Too much symbollic gestures though. Lose the screenwriting manual, writer.
