Review of Lonely Hearts (2006) by Victoria S — 03 Aug 2007
I had never heard of this movie, but rented it b/c I love John Travolta. I wasn't sorry I did. Well told story, good work all around, although Selma Hayek's dialogue is sometimes incomprehensible b/c of her accent.
I can't understand how any character in the film could buy that she and Jared Leto (who finally got a chance to show that he has talent - we've forgotten that over the years)are siblings, since they have COMPLETELY different accents.
She should have had a dialect coach or they should have cast another actor (she's beautiful but I've never thought she was overendowed with talent). Still, a good way to spend a couple of hours.
