Review of Lonely Hearts (2006) by Marcos F — 10 Jan 2009
In Lonely Hearts you know "who done it" from the beginning. And the clues and detective work are minimal in this character study. That being said, I wish they had spent more time developing the history of the the characters.
This movie has a slow pace, and a few dark, gritty moments that are very well done. Jared Leto and Salma Hayek steal the movie in scene after scene of disturbing sociopathy. There are no car chases or big action sequences, so I don't consider this to be a "thriller".
The story could have been better developed, and the movie drags at places. But it was good enough for me to watch a second time because of the great character.
