Julien Temple has really hit his stride in the field of Music documentaries in recent years ,his Dr Feelgood, Joe Strummer,Glastonbury and Sex Pistols docs have all been outstanding.

Now Temple turns his attention to the city of London and its past history and its future right up unti.l the riots in 2011.

To sya that Temple has constructed a masterpiece of film making is selling the film short as a portrait of my favourite city Temple has deliverer the goods.

The film traces London from the early 20th century when it was the heart of the British Empire ,through Two world wars and periods of decline right up to the modern multicultral wonderland of today.

Temple uses his images and music well with the Clash and The Sex Pistols obviously in the mix but we also get music hall ditties and Noel Coward in there as well.

The film interviews a cross section of Londoners as well from Tony Benn to immigrants who arrived in the 50s .

Its a wonderful tribute to a wonderful city and I for one cant waut to see it again.
