Notice the huge disparity between critics & audience. Approximately 40 % variance. The problem with the critics is they have to find a hidden meaning, come up with something clever, and witty. Sometimes people just want to sit in a theater , watch fun actors and be entertained.
This movie is terrific fun, with Butler acting as a Super Hero saving everyone. Don't listen to the critics and decide for yourself.
