Review of London Has Fallen (2016) by Kevin S — 05 Apr 2017
I would like to review the movie and then I would like to review the people that reviewed the movie.
This is a typical action movie where the President of the United States' life is threatened and those around him have the job of protecting him. There are plenty of explosions, gunfire, and buildings toppling. Yes, at times the dialogue leaves something to be desired. Some of the effects are cheesy. It is completely unrealistic in every way possible. Embrace that when going into it and chances are you'll have a lot of fun.
Now let's talk about the people that reviewed this movie. I am going to assume - and probably rightfully so - that every reference to the movie being jingoistic, related to Trump somehow, racist, are coming from non Americans. For someone to read any of that into this somewhat silly movie is a stretch and completely idiotic. It's no secret that many people from other countries are jealous of the U.S. and what we have attained and stand for. So much so that they label and read things into something like this when there is no evidence to support it. I guess that somehow makes those people feel better on some level. Quite sad actually. If you are of the ilk that believes if a movie character that is a terrorist isn't from the US and is from a different country and you're somehow offended by that? The do us all a favor and skip this movie. You'd be better off checking out the latest propaganda that Michael Moore has released. There is absolutely nothing that is racist or jingoistic about this movie. Unless you believe that protecting the leader of a country by any means possible is somehow offending other countries then your little snowflake heart may be offended. Skip the movie, grab a blanket and go to your safe room and take a nap.
