Review of Lon Chaney: A Thousand Faces (2000) by D M — 03 Sep 2009
A great documentary about the man who played in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, and a host of others. This was a very thorough documentary with interviews collected and made for this film.
It covered his techniques for creating the faces that he did as well as exploring the possibility that he was so expressive with his face because he was the son of two deaf parents. Anyone who has an interest in silent film, especially silent horrors from the US should enjoy this.
