Stanley Kubrick often tends to adapt things in his own way. And I do have to say that he makes it brilliant all the time. Funny bul also very realistic Lolita is one of the best dramas I have seen.

This script is very well adapted by Stanley Kubrick. He combines comedy in such a serious story with very welcome way. The funny moments aren't cliched or dull and when they ocured I was cracking up. You can say it was story about Englishman in New Yourk. But this might just my wicked sense of humour. Although second half becomes almost doesn't has any comedy elements and strikes aserious notes. For it's own good.

The direction was again brilliant.Once again I can't understand why Kubrick never got an Academy Award for direction. All his films proofs that he is the best director in the world. The way he was able to balance comedy and drama without gettig of the edge was outstanding. I hate heavy dramas and I always wanted to see drama which was made in comedic way and this film was it. Once again I was blown by Kubricks skill.

Also the cinematography was outstanding. As always it wsn't evolving. It let you to oberve every scene very clearly so that you can make your own interpretations. But at the same time it keeps you on track. Simple amazing.

The cast was amazing too. All the actors were amazing. But I do get to think that most thank should go for Kubrick. Because of such tricky mix of comedy there had to be a man to guide them. Although I do get complain about Lolita portrayal in the final scene but perhaps it was intentional to show her completely unchaged. Perhaps that was reason that atracted Dr. Humbert.

Lolita is another masterpiece from Stanley Kubrick. And once again I was blown away by his talent. I think that comedy is the hardest genre and just a part of drama.Kubrick nailed it just perfectly. There where lots of moments where I was cracking up almost till death. In the end all I can say is just once again quote Jack Nicholson statement about Kubrick. "Everyone pretty much acknowledges that he's the man, and I still feel that underrates him.".
