Review of Lolita (1962) by Robert H — 27 Jul 2011
I loved this movie. The relationship between the step-father and his daughter left almost the whole relationship to the audience's mind. The movie was slow but it really built up the tension in the relationship.
It always seemed innocent and flirtatious. Peter Sellers was excellent as "Clair Quilty". He played his part perfectly building the ever present suspicion of a scandalous relationship. One of the best scenes in this film is Quilty playing ping-pong not having the slightest idea he was going to die for what he did.
