Review of Logan Lucky (2017) by Eric J — 17 Aug 2017
Weeks ago I couldn't decide between this and Hitman's Bodyguard, I'm glad I made the right choice! I'm mainly not a fan of heist films but this is so much fun. It feels grounded, it's funny, smart, and with human characters you feel for and fall in love with. Channing Tatum is fantastic here, Adam Driver is flawless as always, even Seth MacFarlane is great in his over-the-top role. Great story, beautifully shot, amazing performances across the board.
Now, Daniel Craig. I am not a fan of Daniel Craig, at all. I haven't been. This performance just may turn me around on that, because Craig STOLE this film. Such a great character he plays here, perfectly. Despite not being a fan of his, I've always thought he would make a perfect Lex Luthor. Two things I didn't think I'd actually like or appreciate and I came out highly appreciating both. 2 thumbs up from me.
