Review of Logan Lucky (2017) by Jenna I — 03 Oct 2017
Ocean's 7/11 is right. Or as I like to call it: Soderbergh's Coen Brothers heist film.
This was a strange one... enjoyable watch, clever heist, space for character development, and yet it all felt somehow disjointed. It was almost as if Soderbergh spent too much time in TV land and kind of lost the rhythm of movies???? I'm not trying to be insulting, it's just the pacing felt bizarre. A lot of slow / fast revving. Logan's family life (re: the kid) didn't mesh with his heist life for me, even though his motivations were totally justified.
That said, well acted, fun, and some heart shoved-in as well. But lacking somewhere for me. Maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea at the end of the day.
