Review of Logan (2017) by Peabarter — 05 Mar 2017
My son and I left this movie feeling somber and depressed. Granted, I like Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart performances. They did the best they could do with the content. The movie is dark, brooding and rather slow during the middle half.
It seems as though the entire purpose of the movie was to say goodbye to 2 people. So it portrays them as old, weary and ready to fissile out. Personally, I prefer to see my favorite characters in their prime and going out with a bang rather than worn out and beaten down at the end.
The girl had nothing to say for most of the movie which makes it hard to relate to or care for what happens to her. I like to have fun when I go to an X-Men movie and this was far from that. It's too bad that the movie couldn't be fun and then killed off my favorite characters.
Unlike other X-Men movies, I hardly expect that I will want to see this movie again. I guess I had too high expectations for this film.
