Skillfully-executed sci-fi "B-movie" that is a perfectly good time to watch and then forget. Decent special effects don't distract from the hyperkinetic goings-on, and Guy Pearce's laconic tough-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold hero brings to mind Bruce Willis and Kurt Russell.
There's good guys and bad guys and a pretty girl to rescue, with plenty of humor and action. Pop up a jumbo-sized tub of corn and have fun!
