Review of Lockout (2012) by Dc E — 10 Sep 2012
"Lockout" 10 Scale Rating: 6.0 (Decent) ...
The Good: If you turn your brain off and can get through the first 30 minutes or so, you'll be entertained. This has B movie written all over it, but it isn't trying to be anything else. Guy Pearce is amusing and actually pulls off the action hero role. It is simple, stupid, and one giant cliche ... but it is at least an entertaining one.
The Bad: ... however, at times, it is a little too stupid. Far too many scenes that defy logic, gravity, and science to the point where you cannot ignore it. While Pearce was entertaining for the most part, the one liners start to grate on you. A few of them are on target and worth a chuckle, but far too many make you groan. There is also some really terrible CGI in a few of the earth scenes.
