Review of Locke (2014) by Lou A — 15 Aug 2014
A film thats very existence is an accomplishment. The fact that a film taking place entirely in one man's car can be as compelling as this, is astounding. Writer/director Steven Knight is very upfront with his small-scale and raw tale of someone trying to right their wrongs.
Tom Hardy is the key asset, playing a versatile role that remains riveting throughout. He perfectly portrays a man who desires nothing more in life than to clear his family-name, and faces his mistakes head-on to do so.
The glossy cinematography also beautifies a setting that may have seemed monotonous otherwise.
