Review of Locke (2014) by Maximus A — 11 Aug 2014
It's tough to get the full emotion when there is an accent that you are not in tuned with. Saying that, Tom Hardy's physical ability to act is on full display. The lost emotion from the accent is only lost until you see the reactions on his face as he navigates through each moment.
You have to try and put yourself in Ivan Locke's shoes to fully appreciate where the story is taking you. I simply couldn't do that fully. I couldn't get past the fact that this character put himself into the position he found himself in. The story wants you to feel sorry for the guy. Yet you can't.
To see yet another great performance from one of the best doing it today, don't miss this one. Just don't expect it to be the best movie Tom Hardy has been in either.
3 out of 5 stars.
