Review of Locke (2014) by Cesar Q — 22 Aug 2014
Unlike Under The Skin - a movie that needed to be seen far more than heard - Locke needs to be heard. The visuals are nice, but they are completely irrelevant to what is more important here: the dialogue.
Locke takes place entirely in Ivan Locke's car. It's just Tom Hardy and his car's phone. No other characters, no other sequences. Just a man driving on the expressway at night. The phone calls he makes though are life changing and speak a lot about who he is, an Everyman who is beginning to reap what he sowed.
The movie would be a brilliant play or podcast. Locke is a fine movie, and an interesting story to hear.
