Review of Locke (2014) by Ryan B — 24 Dec 2014
I was absolutely blown away by this movie. If you are a fan of Tom Hardy, and you haven't seen Locke, it should be the next movie you watch.
The whole movie takes place in Hardy's car as he drives from Birmingham to London after making a decision that will affect his career and his family.
I'll admit the movie isn't for everyone. Hardy is the only character you will see, and the inside of his car is the only place you'll go, but the movie is tense to the point of claustrophobia, and will have you questioning what you would do if you were in his situation. In my case, I respected him much more because of my answer. Much of the dialogue is either spoken to himself or to people who aren't there, but Hardy's performance is so captivating and the use of ancillary characters is so creative I never felt the need to have it any other way.
