Review of Locke (2014) by Jay L — 09 Jul 2015
This is one riveting film. Locke takes place in a car and only one man appears in the movie while the others are voice actors. It takes a compelling performance to pull off a movie like this, but Tom Hardy does more than carry the movie.
He gives such an outstanding performance that you forget the whole movie is in a car. Without giving it away, Locke is basically about how life can change in the blink of an eye. Ivan Locke said it best in the movie while talking to his boss, "When I left the job site two hours ago, I had a job, a wife, and a home.
Now I have none of those things." With this movie, Hardy proves why he is my favorite actor today. It's not a film general movie goers would like, but I highly recommend it if you enjoy independent dramas.
