Review of Locke (2014) by Max_Kadillac — 25 Oct 2014
IMBD reviews tell the story of this films reception - the really high scores came from people who could appreciate the taught narrative relayed through a sole on-screen actor against the minimal backdrop of, well, a car seat. The low scores were generally aligned with reviews that were moreso 'nothing happened, what a boring film, that dude didnt even get out of his car!'.
So, if you have an appreciation of film that lets you recognize these subtle dynamics, jump in, as its a very moving and powerful piece, with very few films I could compare it to. If you would rather a film that didnt challenge you and is full of car chases, guns and massive hollywood breasts, the good news is that you should just stay away from this film and grab just about any other 'thriller' off the shelf.
