Review of Lock Up (1989) by Joe H — 16 May 2010
What a surprise this film was....with a lot of Sly's film you shouldn't expect much (save Rocky & Rambo) but this was quite well done indeed.
Stallone's character was well written & you really feel for his injustice, and you really hate Donald Sutherland's character all the more for it.
The film is quite emotional and very engaging, it's so easy to get into it, you care for both Sly and the supporting characters around him. When he get's his ass kicked you really want him to give it back.
It's a late 80's action film so yeah it's a bit macho and cheesy, but in those days Action Movies where and they are a hell of a lot better than they are today, and although the style was well used it worked.
A good solid 'dudes' movie, worth a watch....
