Review of Lock Up (1989) by Philip D — 25 May 2012
I don't know what it is. I didn't really have much of an interest in this flick back in '89 although it was also on my radar because the macho man era was dying off. I've been struggling with something recently.
Have the 90s and 00s really fucked up the entertainment industry that bad that it makes movies like LOCK UP well-structured forgotten works of art? Yeah. I enjoyed it. And I'm not sure it's because I am so fed up with the shit that comes out today that everything that was mediocre in the past is just so damn good in comparison.
It's no BAD BOYS (the one with Sean Penn) or BRUBAKER, but it's a good, sentimental time.
