Review of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) by Geoff O — 30 Jan 2010
Once when I was sick my brother and his girlfriend put this on to console me. I guess I may have gone on about how funny and stylish and badass I thought it was. (Their sly move worked, incidentally.) I used to be partial to Sexy Beast, and I liked Layer Cake, but I think this is the most rollicking British gangster movie I've seen.
Note: I should mention that I feel this way in spite of Snatch, the close spiritual sequel that is now better known. Maybe you just like whichever one you saw first.
