Review of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) by Tomislav A — 24 Sep 2010
Now this is filmmaking. It has great style, sense of fun & humor, complexity and is intelligent. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a movie that grabs you and doesn't let go till the very end.
What may put some viewers off it is that the plot is sometimes hard to understand, hard to catch who is on whose side and what is their role, but I kind of got it all at first take. I usually have a hard time when a movie tries to play with your brain, making you repeat what have you just seen so that the next scene makes sense, but here, I must say I had no trouble with the plot.
Lock, Stock succeded at trying to be what it is and it is remarkably enjoyable experience that I must recommend to everyone, especially supporters of British cinema.
