The BEST unknown movie ever and my absolute favorite bar none. Its got it all - Scots, Texas oil men, astronomy, mysterious marine life - even, perhaps, a mermaid - and a soundtrack by Mark Knofler. A must see.
PS - I loved this movie so much I made a pilgrimage to the village of Pennan Scotland where it was filmed. I even called my mom from the red phone booth . . . .
