Review of Local Hero (1983) by Debbie W — 26 Jan 2010
Warm and innocent comedy. Cute plot. Scottish village conspires to get as much poundage as possible from the oil company executive, Burt Lancaster as possible. In the end they all compromise and don't build the project, saving paradise for the ordinary citizen.
Good will and values win out and the lowly and innocent benefit - something we can learn from in social engineering/assimilation.
