Review of Local Hero (1983) by Shawn W — 16 Jun 2009
With more than a nod to "Whisky Galore" this is tale of a remote Scottish village the finds itslef the subject of a purchase by a Texan oil company.
There is plenty of very dry humour in this movie but it is very typical of that type of community. Forsythe captures the spirit of the highlands. Every village has a 'Ricky' on their 2 stroke bikes.
Fine performances by the leads including the wonderful Fulton Mackay.
