Review of Live Free or Die Hard (2007) by Aephraim S — 11 May 2013
The first few minutes a great guilty pleasure -- who can resist an armored-car chase through Moscow? Every driver's dream on the garden ring, and I think the only other one I've seen was in a 007 probably 15 years ago.
Then the confusion of Russian crypto-politics, with nothing certain except that the Americans won't know what's really going on. And then, after I guess the first 10 or 15 minutes, they feel an obligation to fit the pieces together, add dialog, have tap-dancing bad guys explain the scheme to the captives they're about to kill, and all the usual nonsense.
More tanks on Moscow side streets next time, less talking; you're not good at it anyway.
