Live By Night is a mixed bag. If it were not let down by a lackluster script and a poor score, it would be a memorable gangster saga with fine performances, a believable & immersive atmosphere and a highly apparent dedication to story telling from Affleck.
Sadly, its downfalls are not hidden by these positives, leaving the film stranded among the many forgettable films at this time of year.
