Review of Live and Let Die (1973) by Richard M — 16 Jan 2009
This is the 1st movie that I ever saw and it was at a drive-in!
At the time, I was blown away with the intro from Paul McCartney. What an amazing 1st movie for a 9 year old to see back in 1973. Everything in it to me was very cool and very real. Running over gators, boats flying all over the place, Voo doo, 007's gadgets. Great stuff!
Looking back this has got to be one of the cheesiest movies that I have ever seen. But it has this charm about it. Roger Moore was also way too funny. No wonder Mike Myers made so much money with the Austin Powers series. Movies like this and the rest of the 007 cheese just gave him so much material to work with.
This is an enduring 007 "epic", no doubt.
