Review of Live and Let Die (1973) by Dewa L — 20 Feb 2014
This was just on tonight and it reminded me how much I LOVED this Bond film!! I really enjoyed the fact that this one had some very interesting scenery, and that includes the US/Louisiana locations. A welcome change, as well as the pretty cool VooDoo & Tarot card stuff that was incorporated into the story.
I remember as a little kid buying a set of Tarot cards after seeing this film on VHS! I for one love the comedic aspects which were very prevalent in this film. Purists always like to put down this film, and Moore in general.
I never understood what was wrong with liking BOTH Connery & Moore, as I do. I for one always thought Moore was underrated, he did a good job and very much so in this his first entry. Add in a great McCartney song and this is a Bond classic which I never get tired of seeing again! When that voodoo guy comes out of the ground and taken out by 007 is just one of the many hilarious moments that make this Bond entry a great watch and definitely unique in the series.
It is my favorite of all the Bond films, followed closely by most of the other Connery & Moore entries.
