Review of Live and Let Die (1973) by David F — 22 Jun 2014
Roger Moore looks so young in this film and brings a well-bred, aristocratic bearing to the part of James Bond that was previously lacking and that goes extremely well with Bond's proclivity for knowing everything there is to know about wines, women, and cars.
He is the most dapper Bond. There's an epic boat chase through the bayous leavened with the hilarity of frustrated authority that's a masterpiece of pacing, excitement, and tonal balance. This film also incorporates a lot of black actors into the story, which is unusual for any movie and quite progressive.
