Greta Gerwig proves herself as both a director and writer to be reckoned with through skillfully treading the line of reworking and remaining faithful to the little women source material. After seeing this film, it made me respect the work of Louisa May Alcott so much more and all of the compromises she had to make in order to be a successful writer and provide for her family.
