Review of Little Women (1994) by Syori N — 12 May 2008
One of my favorite movies of all time!! I absolutely adore the book and I felt that this movie stayed pretty true to the book. Winona Ryder was alright as Jo, but at times I think she lacked Jo's spunk.
Kirsten Dunst was a perfect Amy. I would have liked to have seen a little more time spent on knowing Beth as the book tells us more about her, although Claire did well with what she was given. Laurie.
..ahhh Christian Bale was so wonderful as Laurie-I was absolutely sick when Jo refused him in the book and even more sick seeing it on film and poor Christian getting his heart broke. The film made it seem that he got with Amy right away but the book shows that much time passed and that he really got to know and fall in love with Amy.
.I would have liked to have seen that explored in the movie.
